Keeping Abreast of Your Health Board Members...

Jackie Spradley - Director of Outreach
Jackie a native Houstonian who as a Breast Cancer Survivor is thankful for the life she has been given. In August 2007, Jackie developed breast cancer but today is cancer free. 

Work
She retired from SBC-AT&T after more than thirty years. She has worked in the Houston Independent School District as an Associate Teacher. Jackie also worked as a volunteer for M. D. Anderson Cancer Center a place that became familiar to her during her many treatments and doctor visits. In addition she volunteered her time at the Houston Police Department. At her church home she is teacher and coordinator of the Sunday school. 

Education
She is a graduate of Dallas Baptist University with a Bachelor’s in Business Management.  

Interest
Jackie’s focus is to encourage others on the cancer journey and continue to bring awareness to breast cancer and also serving as the Director of Outreach for Keeping Abreast Of Your Health non-profit organization.

Jackie is married to Frederick Sr. together they have two children Frederick II and Felicia as well as three little people Frederick III, DeAjaune’ and Devyn.

Gloria Johnson - Consultant
Mrs. Johnson is a native Houstonian.

Education
 Her public school education was in HISD at Bruce Elementary, E. O. Smith Jr High, and Phyllis Wheaten High School.

 She received her BS in Nursing from P V U in 1968.

 A MS in Nursing from Texas Women University in 1975.

Work
 Gloria has had a varied career in nursing since 1968 and is a Family Nurse Practitioner since 1975.

 She has worked general medicine, surgery, obstetrics, ICU, CCU, Respiratory Intensive Care, Neonatal Intensive Care, and is retired from M. D. Anderson Division of Cancer Prevention. Through the efforts of the National Black Leadership she continues her mission of informing the public about cancer and prevention as an Ambassador Speaker for M. D. Anderson.
